Before bulk production, MinCharm confirms the required fabrics and trims through a combination of physical approval references and written product specifications. 1 Fabric specifications reviewed The required fabric information may include: Fiber composition Fabric construction Weight or GSM Color Stretch and recovery Handfeel and drape Surface texture Brushing, washing, coating, or other finishing Shrinkage requirements Relevant performance or testing requirements 2 Physical fabric reference approved Depending on the project, the fabric can be reviewed through a fabric swatch, reference cutting, buyer-nominated material, lab dip or color sample, sample yardage, existing garment, or garment sample made with the proposed fabric. The approved physical reference should be clearly identified and retained as part of the project records. 3 Trim specifications confirmed Required trim information may include type and intended use, size or dimensions, material, color, surface finish or plating, logo or artwork, functional requirements, placement on the garment, and supplier reference or approved sample. Approval references may include zipper samples, buttons, drawcords, elastic, rib, eyelets, buckles, patches, labels, or other project-specific components. 4 Sample materials compared with bulk requirements If the garment sample is made using the intended bulk fabric and trims, the approved sample provides an important physical reference. If substitute fabric, available stock material, or temporary trims are used for sampling, this should be clearly recorded. The actual bulk-production materials must then be reviewed and approved separately before cutting and manufacturing begin. 5 Applicable documentation reviewed Where required, the project may also include fabric test reports, composition documentation, color or lab-dip approval, trim specification sheets, certification or supplier documents, and buyer approval records. Documents should be checked against the actual material, supplier, scope, test method, and project requirements rather than assumed to apply automatically. 6 Bulk materials checked before production Bulk fabric and trims should be compared with the approved references and confirmed specifications before release for production. Relevant checks may include color, composition, GSM, handfeel, stretch, finishing, visible material quality, trim dimensions, logo, finish, and functionality. No substitution without confirmation No fabric or trim substitution should be made for bulk production without buyer confirmation. Can MinCharm source custom garment trims? Yes. MinCharm can review and source standard or customized garment trims according to the confirmed product design, construction, branding, and functional requirements. For example, a zipper suitable for a lightweight top may not be appropriate for a heavy sweatshirt or jacket. Supplier minimums and lead time Some custom trims may have their own supplier MOQ and lead time. A garment order of 1,000 pieces does not automatically mean that a trim supplier can produce only 1,000 custom zippers, buttons, patches, or other specially developed components. Custom development costs Custom logos, colors, molds, shapes, plating, or materials may also involve: Supplier setup charges Mold or tooling costs Color-development requirements Minimum order quantities Additional sampling time Longer production lead times Options when a trim MOQ exceeds the garment quantity If a custom-trim MOQ is higher than the garment quantity, MinCharm can review available options with the buyer. Depending on the project, these may include selecting an available standard trim, adjusting the specification, using a suitable alternative, or purchasing the supplier’s required minimum quantity. Confirm before bulk production Trim samples or approval references should be confirmed before bulk production. MinCharm can review the sourcing of materials covered by applicable OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 or Global Recycled Standard (GRS) documentation when these requirements are specified for a project. Availability is subject to the actual material specification, supplier capability, certification scope, order quantity, color requirements, lead time, and proposed production arrangement. 1 Buyer Requirement Confirmed Please identify the required certification or standard, fabric composition and GSM, color and finishing, intended garment or product, estimated quantity, target market or retailer requirement, and required documentation or product claim. 2 Suitable Material & Supplier Identified MinCharm reviews available material suppliers and manufacturing options that may match the fabric and certification requirements. 3 Documentation Reviewed Relevant information should be checked against the certificate holder, certificate number, certified material or product scope, named supplier or facility, fiber composition or recycled-content scope, certificate validity, the actual material proposed for the order, and applicable chain-of-custody or transaction documentation. 4 Commercial Requirements Confirmed Certified or documented materials may involve different supplier MOQs, color minimums, prices, material-production lead times, documentation requirements, and supply-chain arrangements. 5 Material Approved for the Project The buyer should review and approve the fabric specification, available documentation, swatch, color, handfeel, and garment sample before bulk production. Certification should not be assumed only because a supplier has one certificate. The certificate must cover the relevant material, product, supplier, facility, or supply-chain stage involved in the actual order. Scope limits apply. An OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certificate for one fabric or component does not automatically mean every material, accessory, garment, or MinCharm order is certified. Similarly, using a recycled fabric does not automatically make the finished garment eligible for a GRS product claim; the applicable recycled-content, certified supply chain, production facility, and transaction or traceability requirements must be reviewed for the actual project. Claim usage. Any certification label, logo, or product claim should only be used when the specific order is eligible and the required documentation and permissions have been confirmed. Yes. MinCharm can review custom fabric-color requirements and coordinate color development against an agreed reference before sampling or bulk production. Useful Color References A Pantone reference suitable for textile development A physical color swatch An approved fabric cutting An existing garment A buyer-approved master color standard Other clearly identified physical color references Digital images, screen colors, RGB values, or website color codes can help communicate the initial direction, but they should not normally be treated as the only final fabric-color standard because screens and devices display colors differently. 1 Color Reference Confirmed The buyer and MinCharm confirm which Pantone number, swatch, fabric cutting, or physical sample will be used as the main reference. 2 Fabric & Dyeing Reviewed The fabric composition, construction, GSM, finishing, order quantity, dyeing method, supplier MOQ, and required timeline are reviewed. 3 Lab Dip Developed Where applicable, the fabric supplier prepares a lab dip or other color sample against the agreed reference. 4 Buyer Color Approval The buyer reviews the proposed color under agreed conditions. If needed, comments or another development round can be arranged before approval. 5 Sample & Bulk Confirmation The approved color reference is used for sampling and bulk fabric production. Bulk fabric is checked against the agreed standard before garment production. An absolute Pantone match should not be guaranteed automatically. The visible result can be affected by fiber composition, yarn and fabric construction, fabric weight, dyeing method, brushing, washing, coating, finishing, individual dye lots, surface texture, and lighting or viewing conditions. Confirm tolerance and testing early. If the buyer has a specific color tolerance, testing method, light-source requirement, or numerical acceptance standard, it should be provided before color development begins. Custom dyeing requirements. Separate fabric-mill MOQs, development costs, additional lead time, and minimum quantities for each color should be confirmed before sampling and bulk production. Confirm Before Bulk The selected fabric should be confirmed through a swatch, fabric cutting, sample yardage, garment sample, or other agreed approval method before bulk production. If an exact composition and target GSM are not available, any proposed alternative and its differences should be explained and approved before use. GSM tolerance. A fabric can have an acceptable production tolerance rather than remaining at one exact value across every part of every roll. The applicable tolerance and testing method should be confirmed according to the buyer's requirements. Formal verification. No alternative material should be used for the bulk order without buyer confirmation. Performance claims and testing. If a project includes specific performance claims or testing requirements, these should be provided early.
